Thanks Aryan, Yes I referred this one.
In above document for silent upgrade the command uses the packageName also to upgrade.
So, just for a workaround could try below:
get the packagename with below commands:
pkginfo | grep BLOG
pkginfo | grep BladeLogic
use command to upgrade:
pkgadd -d NSH821-SOL10-SPARC-LOCAL BLOGnsh
the last parameter will be the result of pkginfo command.
As I don't have solaris setup to test & confirm, you can try your luck.:-)
the error you are getting indicates that the existing NSH install was done w/ the shell-based installer, not the solaris package, which means you cannot use the package to upgrade nsh. you should use the shell based installer to do this upgrade instead.
Thanks Bill. I am unable to find shell based installer for 8.3 in EPD. May be I have to raise a support ticket.
Shell installers are definitely available on EPD.
Please explain exactly where you are looking.

See if you can find this path:
BMC BladeLogic Automation Suite - Base License => BMC BladeLogic Automation Suite - Base License 8.3.00 => BMC Server Automation 8.3.00 => BMC Server Automation 8.3.00 => BMC Server Automation 8.3.00 (Solaris)
Or look under any of these Top Level Product Names that you can see:

BMC BladeLogic Server Automation - Provisioning Module
BMC BladeLogic Server Automation Suite
If you still don't see what you need, contact Customer Care (Customer_Care@bmc.com) with your Support Contact ID and a description of the problem and the will check it.

Thanks Jim and Ankur.
