The upgrade is free as long as you have valid support. You can download it from the support site
In general Asset Core upgrades are painless and easy. Your relays and agents can auto update if you have that setting turned on, so deploying updated agents is automatic.
Some customers prefer to test the upgrade first in a test environment, and this is always a good idea, but not required.
Excellent, thank you Zane! We do have valid support, so I'll see if we can include the upgrade as part of our current implementation, we pretty much just deployed it!
I have a few questions I was wondering if you may be able to help. We are running Macs with OSX 10.8 and 10.9 and FPAC 11.7. We currently don't have our macs binded to our domain. I am only able to get the agent to deploy via the console via IP address and i am having an issue with the mac's only connecting to the Master. I was wondering if you ran into any of these issues and what kind of environment that you are running your macs in.
Vincent, we actually used "Pull" to deploy all our agents given the wide spread nature of our network. In other words, we manually retrieved the agent installation file from the https://MASTERURL:1611/rollout address.
We have now upgraded to FPAC 11.7 and we have several versions of Mac OS X running out there starting from 10.6 and up to 10.9.2 without issues.
I would suggest to check the following document created by Julien Devienne which covers troubleshooting issues with agents not connecting to their relay - note that the title says "windows" but it also applies to mac clients: https://communities.bmc.com/docs/DOC-26137
Hope it helps,
