What information about the jobs are you trying to get, and why ?
I want to have a csv report of all the jobs that are executed during the last month.
On each job, i need to know hte tagetted server anf by target if it success, the start_time and the end_time of the job.
I think you should be able to do some of this from BDSSA.
but we don't want ot use BDSSA.
We have plan an upgrade of our BladeLogic platform from 7.6 to 8.3SP2
version 7.6 is only compatible with Oracle 10...version 8.3 SP2 only with oracle 11, but it works on Oracle 10.
BSARA is only compatible witj Oracle 10... BDSSA with oracle 11, but it doesn't work with oracle 10.
Because the database of BDSSA/BSARA and BSA are ont the same server. I cannot upgrade the database to Oracle 11 now but only in the future.
Because BDSSA is only compatible with Oracle 11, i try to search a way to extract job informations (start_time, end_time, success, target servers) until my DBA team will upgrade to oracle 11 and my team will install BDSSA.
this is not a simple thing to put together. is there a reason why you can't upgrade bdssa as well ?
why don't you upgrade the db to oracle 11, then upgrade bsa, then upgrade bdssa ?
Because Oracle 11 is not supported by BladeLogic 7.6 and oracle 10 is not supported by BladeLogic 8.3.
So we will upgrade the version 7.6 to 8.3 with oracle 10 , then upgrade the oracle 10 to 11. But this last upgrade must be done by our DBA Team and the delay are very long (maybe in months...) so during this time i want to be able to export job activity without BDSSA.
After the upgrade of oracle 11 and the DBBSA install, i also want to be able to verify the reportins in BDSSA because in BSARA (for bladelogic 7.6) i'm not sure that the reports are correct (data consistents).
so why not upgrade to 8.2 which supports both versions of oracle, then do the db upgrade then goto 8.3 or 8.5 ?
i'm fairly certain the bsara 2.x will work w/ 11g as much as 7.6 will.
That's my new idea too, upgrade first the oracle db to 11 even if we have a BLadeLogic 7.6 (not supported by BMC).
I don't want to upgrade to BladeLogic 8.2, then upgrade database, then upgrade to 8.3, theres too much stop.
But i'm nost sure that bladelogic 7.6 work on Oracle 11 (bladelogic 8.3 works fine on Oracle 10, i made tests for)
