I dont require tasks and stages information i already know that.
I require how much time it will take to provision for all above mentioned operating system.
For example:Windows Bare Metal provisioning it takes nearly 1 Hour and for VM provisioning of Windows 30 Minutes.
So i require rest of the operating system information.
1 - This will depending on your hardware and network involved in provisioning. BSA is just automating the unattended, kickstart, etc. there is not much overhead added by bsa here (we're only talking about provisioning, no post-install jos) - the target network boots and then starts whatever unattended install process is relevant for the os. have you timed how long each of these takes ? and have you compared that to a manual install ? 1 hour may be reasonable in your environment for a bare metal install. generally provisions take somewhere between 10 to 60 min depending on the OS, target hardware, network, etc. a small install of linux will obviously be faster than a full linux install or a windows install for example.
2 - what kind of information are you trying to get and what do you want to do w/ that information ?
Thanks for the information provided.
I have timed for windows bare Metal provisioning for rest of the operating system how much time it will take i am not sure .
I agree it also depends on target hardware,OS and network.I dont want approximate time what time to what time it can install rough calculation.
what kind of information are you trying to get and what do you want to do w/ that information==i am just comparing with client tool and need to provide information on BMC bladelogic provisioning on operating system some rough calculation
time is required.
the reporting tool isn't going to provide any more information that the gui. but it would make it easier to generate some useful information. for example - if you setup provisioning jobs in your environment for each os, you could run them a few times each and then use the reporting tool to give you the average run time of each job/os. and then maybe graph that over time as you run more provisioning jobs in the environment.
I agree with you and i have another query related to datacenter,
I want to get information of datacenter that may be having 500 servers through bladelogic or do i need to use BMC baldelogic decision support and how to use it ?
Thanks & Regards,
Are they enrolled in thr console?? What kind of reports you need?? What are
the fields you need.. Based on that it may change ..

it would depend on what information you need to get, and in what format.
bdssa is a BI tool based on cognos. it generates reports and provides a couple different utilities to create report definitions based on the available data, as well as a number of out of box reports for common things like a per-OS inventory count of all your servers.
it's possible to pull text (csv, html) information directly out of bsa - that may be sufficient for your needs. you need to define what your reporting requirements are first i think.
