In order to stop the technicians from editing the Type/Subtype/Category values, you will want to disable the Drop Down Edit functionality for those fields in Security Policies. Here is how to do that:
1. Open the Administration Console and open the Security Policy you would
like to change (can also be done from an individual technician level if you select "Custom" for their associated security policy).
2. Under the Modules tab, expand Drop Down Edit.
3. Remove the check box next to the Work Order Types entry.
4. Save the Security Policy.
When that is done, technicians associated with that security policy will not be able to add new values in those fields, and will also not be able to modify the existing values. They will be forced to simply choose one of the existing values.
So that's where it is hiding!! Thank you very much, sir!
No problem. Glad I could help. Of course I should also mention that if the security policy has the "Administration" permission enabled, those techs could still open the Administration Console and add new values or make changes there. :-)
After breaking Track-It many times, I don't trust anyone else to break it but me! So I don't let anyone else under the hood!
You are very wise sir.
