First step, Use the search engine to find the servera.xyz.com server. In search engine just mention name "contains" servera.
If it list out the server, decommission the server.
If it is listing out or listed but not able to decommission, then best way is login to database and mark as deleted. What database you have for bladelogic?
Look for all possible issues
1. Hostfile entry check
2. server already added with another name, in this case server check the IP address rather than the FQDN name
3. execute nslookup of the server and check whether it has been joined to the DNS or not.
Just few thoughts that poped up!!
*Sometime if the server is left in the provisioning console, then also this issues happens. Find the server and remove from there.
*Check for correct host file entry
*Restart App server service
Do you have different RBAC roles and templates/policies ?
If you do the server could have been added but you do not have persmissions to see it. Check with the RBACAdmin role to be sure
if you were unable to add the server, how could you try and decommission it ?
what role were you when you were adding the server? the server.xyz.com may already exist but the role adding the server does not have permission to see it. you may need to confirm if the server is there by looking as BLAdmins.
