What type of reports are you trying to run ?? As you said BOXI is also there are you trying to run a Crystal Report then you need to check the Mid-Tier Configuration for BOXI server @Report Setting.
Thanks for responding... I am running cryatal report and required
settings already exist in report setting section of mid tier config
page but no luck. I am unable to find the cause... :/
Okay can you try on Firefox I think there might be an issue with your IE browser....
Aslo check if any firewall is restricting to contact BOXI
Hi Srini ,
Have you recently configured BOXI server???
Can you paste the screenshot of report setting page from mid-tier config.
@ anupam - all users are facing this issue and in all browsers - IE,
Chrome, Firefox. We have analytics installed on this BO server and
Able to access InfoView and all related apps from this server. No
firewall and antivirus related issues.
@ jayesh - We are using BO from last two years and started getting
error abruptly. Due to security reasons I cannot post screen shot but
I can tell u configuration
Reporting Engine : Crystal reports
Directory : Location Of BO
Server : Server host name and port where BO is installed.
Just check Reporting working directory where the report definitions are stored . it may happen that reporting server is not able to access those definitions from that path. just make sure that it must be the absolute path of the directory.
Check the definition for Crystal Report type is configured in Report Type form.
To ensure that BusinessObjects Enterprise is properly configured to work with BMC Remedy AR System:
Configure BusinessObjects Enterprise with sufficient named licenses. Consult the BusinessObjects
Enterprise documentation for information about SAP licensing requirements.
Make sure that all necessary services are running and enabled in the page of the BusinessObjects Central
Configuration Manager and Central Management Console. See the BusinessObjects documentation for
information about the necessary services and using these applications.
Assign the directory defined as the Reports Working Directory (for example, ARInstallDir\midtier\reports)
and the Windows Temp directory (for example, C:\WINDOWS\Temp) permissions for the Windows user
account that the web server uses.
After running a Crystal report through the mid tier, verify that the report is published properly. To view a list of
the published reports, open the ARReports folder in the Central Management Console.
You can access the Central Management Console from the Windows Programs menu.
Is it for all reports? try to generate report by other way:
Open incident form
Search records by using your qualification
Select all records
Click on report
Run your report and see how it goes
- I am have configured absolute path only in report directory, here it is D:\Program Files\BMC Software\ARSystem\midtier\reports - I has crystal report which I am trying to run
- report definition file is attached to the record in report form.
- It's for all reports
- Same issue with the way you suggested
seems configuration/network issue.
are you able to access configured midtier url from crystal report server? Check your boxi/crystal server location again. try with IP instead of hostname: http://IP:port
addition to Ganesh ,check whether all the below three BOXI related services are running or not.
2.Business Intellegence Agent
3.Apache Tomcat for BOXI
did you check KB: KA342730 ? There is Business Objects defect ADAPT00828502. it says set Java runtime option currectly.
-Dbobj.enterprise.home=D:\Program Files\Business Objects\BusinessObjects Enterprise 11.5
Need urgent assistance here,
We have a server group environment in place which has 2 web and 2 app servers connecting to a common DB and a application and midtier loadbalancer as well.
We had other single server box where we have few ARSystem reports, but now when we tried to modify/access the report via the Load balancer or individual midtier servers we get the below error:
Cannot establish a network connection to the AR System server : Connection refused remedyprod (ARERR 90)
But the same same report is accessible via the old server.
Seems some mapping issue of server group name with servers, but cannot figure out.
