As far as I could recall, it is computed as:
0-3 CPUs: 1 license
4-7 CPUs: 2 license
7-11 CPUs: 3 license
So when you license your server, I guess you might have 0-3 CPUs, so that license will be valid for 0-3 CPUs.
but as soon as the server got 4 or 4+ CPUs, your license become invalid.
you can re-license your server for Max no of CPUs you can have by using -c flag (CPU count) of autolic, like:
autolic -c 4 <username> <password> <hostname>
This will license your server for 4 CPUs and it will be valid for 4-7 CPUs.

Thanks for the quick responses. The strange thing is that the number of CPU's is not changing, and hasn't changed since the server was built.
However I've re-licensed with -c 4 and so far that's looking like it's fixed it!
Fingers crossed I'll now get my testing done!
