    Exists Loop syntax

    Joe Piotrowski

I'm trying to do a simple Exists Loop in a Compliance Rule but I can't seem to get the syntax right. My test is to see of any Applications (on a Windows server) start with the letter A. Here is my syntax:

      exists "Windows Application:**" where

           Name starts with "A"

Even though I have several Application Names that start with A on my test server, my Rule always fails on the exists "Windows Application:**" where condition.

I've tried removing the **, using only one *, using a /, etc but nothing I try works. Any suggestions as to what I'm doing wrong?
