When the incident moves to a specific status (don't remember off the top of my head) it'll move the task from a 'Staged' to an 'In Progress' status...then you can modify the task....before then you can't change the status
Or in other words, the move to 'In Progress' must come from the incident, not manually
moving to incident mgmt forum.
I have tried this and it does not work, it has to be something else.
LJ is correct, when a Task is attached the Parent request (Incident, Change, etc) controls the Status flow. It also depends on if there is Assignment information entered, the version of ARS you are using (there are discussions on bugs in this area in certain versions) and the sequence of when you attached the Task to the request.
You may need to change the Status of the Incident back to a previous Status to have the Task activate correctly.
Is it happening for all the tasks for all the new incidents whihc u r creating now? Or jus for tis incident u facing tis issue?
what version are you on, Fernando? I vaguely remember issues with this several versions ago.Might want to put in a support ticket.
Re: This task (or group) must be activated (from the parent) before it can be changed to the status: Assigned (ARERR 45093)
This error seems misleading to the problem at hand. The problem at hand it that you probably have more than one task on this ticket. If you look at the task above the one that says "Staged" it will probably have a status like "Assigned" or something like that. "Staged" just means that this task is waiting in line after the previous task. If you change the status of the previous task to lets say "Closed" it will move the status of the previously "Staged" ticket to "In-Progress" or something similar. Now you can make changed to the status of that now "In-Progress" task and it will allow you to save without the mentioned error.
Hope this helps...
Hi Fernando, you also get this error message when the parent incident is in Assigned status. Make sure the incident is in In Progress and the tasks will get activated automatically.
Open the task with Status as "Staged" and change the Status Reason to "Staging Completed" and the status of the task will move to Assigned and then you can close the task. Henceforth, the incident/WO or whatever is related to the task.
