i just got confirmation from support that this is not possible right now and an RFE has been opened for that.
Do you know if this was corrected? All of the docs I reference don't show this as an option. Makes 2012 R2 hard to provision with VGJ.
no, this was not fixed as far as I know. I think we ended up injecting the SCSI drivers to image.
Can you manually put in the same text that shows up in the vmx for that scsi controller ?
It appears in the console as LSI Logic SAS
Changed to this….does this look correct?
<SCSIAdapterType>LSI Logic SAS</SCSIAdapterType>
I am sure you can manually do it or create a powershell script to add the virtual SAS adapter instead of SCSI adapter created by BSA. The issue is with the BSA, when it creates default VM Guest it uses SCSI adapter and Microsoft stopped shipping SCSI drivers starting windows 2012 DVD. Only SAS drivers are included in the image and BSA doesn't build SAS adapters . A conundrum
Justin Crowe are you changing it in BSA XML? If so that doesn't work.
we are not on 8.5 so I cannot validate, but you could create a VGP and try to add manually. If there is no option for SAS adapter only SCSI, then you cannot just add in XML. It will fail...
