Just remembered: RBACRole.getUserMap is available for retrieving the user-mapping for UNIX or WINDOWS - but that seems to be the only one

you need to generate the unreleased commands - there are a number of 'get' commands you can run against the RBACUser object once it's loaded into memory.
thank you, Bill - unfortunately there's nothing in there for retrieving these values.
I think you need to get the agent acl object associated w/ the role and then you get the flags associated w/ that objects.
Thank you - that works very well. Here are the steps in order:
blcli_execute RBACRole findByName MyRole
blcli_execute RBACRole getAgentAcl
blcli_execute Utility setTargetObject
blcli_execute AgentAcl getFlags
In my case the last statement returned "8", which is according the documentation for RBACRole.setAgentAclFlags the "read/write"-flag.
Additionally there are the following functions in AgentAcl-namespace:
value of the "Root Directory"-field; 1: Windows, 999: Unix
value of the "User Map - Use property"-field
