Create a new Server Property in Configuration / Property Dictionary / Built-In / Server
Browse your specific Servers and set this property to something unique that would distinguish these servers
Create a Smart Group with condition: Server Property Name equals your unique value
Defining property and setting against list of servers (around 100+) everytime is very time consuming job.
But as this kind of requirement comes very often with differnt list of servers. Lets say out of 500 servers. Required to run certain jobs against list of servers ( around 100-200 servers). This server is list is different all the times.
Hence looking for mechanism in which I can create group (Static/ Smart) with list of servers passing as argument file. Without this server getting re-added to bladelogic Databse.

In that case it has to be Static Group.
Create new Group
Right-click on it / Import Servers to Group
Pick a txt file***
txt file should contain servers in a column, with first entry be 'Name'. Example of txt file:
Importing servers is basically adding servers to Bladelogic Console.
Is there any way, Without adding servers to Bladelogic Databse, we can assign already added servers to one group by passing argument file ( consisting of around 100+ servers)
You would need to somehow identify all these server with something unique. The one way (and possibly the only) of doing it is to set a server property to some unique value (see my first post). To ease this a little bit, you can do it in bulks... Right-click on the Smart Group that contains all your servers / select Group Explorer View, then from there select your specific servers right click and 'Set Property', then pick the property and set it. This is basically an addition to my initial post.
Other than this, one way or another you have to select all your specific servers to perform any task, so may as well select them to set the specific property. Creating Smart Group is just one simple step after that.
there's another blcli command like 'addServerToGroup' or something like that which will a server that is already registered to a static server group. loop through your list and use that command.
