KA370931 - BBSA Windows Patch Analysis or Snapshot of Hotfixes Job error: Patch language with code not found
Windows server you are receiving error which agent they have? if they have 8.1 ? are they licensed ?
Also check permissions given C:\windows\rsc\exports file on those server.
@Ashitosh ...those "basic" things are all sorted :-)
- Remote Registry service is running
- Admin Shares are there
The last three lines in Trace.txt are:

Ok your error message actually is slightly different (it has null in the middle). We may have released some actuall fixes for this, tell me your full appserver and agent version numbers.
just realized the following:
i guess we may have a scenario here that is not supported by you at the moment:
(Agent is newer than AppServer)
Environment 1 : App-Server: 126.96.36.1990 - 8.2 SP1 P2
This is were we see the the error with "Patch language with code null not found"
But Environment 2:
Environment 2 : App-Server: 188.8.131.521 - 8.2 SP2
RSCD 184.108.40.2061 (same server as above)
We get the following:
Also here the Trace.txt contains:
2012-09-21T13:53:09.3180490Z 0c38 V MultiMachineScanner.cpp:903 Unknown error in setting run complete event, ignoring and exiting run thread
Very close to the end.
A manually generated results.xml shows all these pacthes as installed or "effectively installed".
Your agent version is higher than the appserver, and that is one of the reasons when you will get this issue. I've confirmed this before, just did not say anything becuase I thought your appserver was on 8.2.2.
but why do we get all these status "Unknown" for definetly installed hotfixes in our second environment, were all Infra components are definetely on 8.2.2.
sorry, didn't see the second question and the 'unknown' status in the attachment. To me that looks like a defect, I don't believe I've seen this before, so this may need some troubleshooting. EffectivelyInstalled patches should be shown as such in the gui, but maybe "Unknown error in setting run complete event" has something to do with it. I'd run the command manually on the target again (just like in the original post) and revisit trace.txt and results.xml. perhaps there's something in results.xml that essentially breaks parsing for EffectivelyInstalled column. And this then may get traced to the error in trace.txt, which is traced to something else, which is the root cause but unknown at this time. maybe a ticket would be good here too, so that the defect can be reproduced and worked with engineering for a bug fix.
Not sure if this would do anything, but can you delete the trace.txt and trace.txt.old from the target server, and see if the issue is reproducible?
sorry for my delayed answer, but we upgraded PROD to 8.2 SP2 yesterday, which kept us a bit busy :-)
The bad news is i can now reproduce exactly the same behaviour in PROD with all involved components running on 220.127.116.111.
I raised this with Support now and wait for their reply.
I wonder if this has some implications on a Patch-Analysis and Remediation as well ?
Just out of courisity, can you reproduce this yourslef on an 8.2 SP2 based environment ?
Not me personally, but I'm aware of another field tech that has the issue, and I'm trying to help him as well. Can you attach the entire trace.txt please? I have a feeling that you may have this in your trace.txt:
Prereq - FAIL - Reg Access
CHFScanThreadClass - DID NOT pass Prereqs
Also, give me the ticket number as well and I'll assist the tech to get to the bottom of this.
as the Trace.txt contains lot's of sensible information, could you send me your Mail-Address (maybe as a Private Message) so i can pass it on this way ?
On the first glance i could not find the Error-Message that you mention.
The ticket number is: ISS04023253
firstname.lastname@example.org - but this is our secret, no one else must know : )
Actually I just looked at the ticket, and realized that I mixed two problems. When I mentioned "Prereq - FAIL - Reg Access" I was still thinking about the issue with "Patch language with code null not found". Confirm this please so that we are on the same page:
"Patch language with code null not found" - this was only an issue where appserver was at lower SP level than target. This is no longer an issue.
"EffectivellyInstalled" patches show up as "Unknown" - this is the only issue left. I just thought of one possibility for this and will try to reproduce. I'll share the results. Still email me your trace.txt (or if you do not mind, attach to the ticket instead)
Thx for your help !!
