Unified Agent Installer Error - psExec ?

      Hi,

the RSCD agent installation via Unified Agent Installer Job failed with error:

There are the following messages in the job log:

      .....................

cmd exited on sv11111.test.com with error code 0.

The command execution has finished.  Subsequent job log messages will no longer be associated with the command execution.

Could not read d:\temp\stage/psexec-stdout-0.7189654283217071 on sv11111.test.com: Command returned success but could not read file: d:\temp\stage/psexec-stdout-0.7189654283217071

The agent is installed but the next step: to copy the configuration files was not done.  Any ideas ???

      Cheers

when you install agents on Windows 7 and Windows 2008

devices that are not enabled for a domain, specify a PsExec server that is not part

of a domain. When you install agents on Windows 7 and Windows 2008 devices

that are enabled for a domain, specify a PsExec server that belongs to the same

          domain.

PsExec version should be 1.98 or higher and PsExec should be installed in agent's path

PsExec Server should be running latest BSA agent.

remorte host authentication based on Psexec -

          — PsExec server is not decommissioned

          — Version of the RSCD agent on the PsExec server matches what is listed in its server properties

          — Version of the RSCD agent on the PsExec server is 8.2 or higher

          — RSCD agent is running

          — PsExec command can be executed on the PsExec server

          — Designated automation principal is present

To perform certain operations in the Unified Agent Installer, your role must be granted the following minimum authorizations.

          Server.Read—To pick a PsExec server

Server.AgentInstall -on any server selected as a target for the job, either directly or through a group

Check AgentBundle  and Automation principle permission.

when defining non-default configurations. The installation process does not

validate configuration settings. An incorrect setting can prevent an agent from starting or block users from accessing the agent so define configuration file settings

          • 2. Re: Unified Agent Installer Error - psExec ?

Have you check the psExec server ,agent bundle  with configuration file.check the status of Automation principle and update the permission and reran the job,if still getting the issue check the log for proper error message.

                i have to verify this

                • 5. Re: Unified Agent Installer Error - psExec ?

Check and let us Know,If you still facing any issue then try manual psexec command for Configuration file copying to the target server whether that succssfull or not?

                    Hi,

i think the problem that we have is that we SEVERAL commands in "install command" from installer haben, something like:

                    msiexec /I "??SOURCE??" /qn ALLUSERS=1 REBOOT=ReallySuppress PENDINGREBOOTFORCE=1  && move /Y c:\temp\aaa.txt c:\temp\aaa.txt  && exit /B 0

and it seems to be a problem for psexec ...

                    • 7. Re: Unified Agent Installer Error - psExec ?

For Minimum command we need to perform the Installation

                      Install command

                      msiexec /I "??SOURCE??" /qn ALLUSERS=1 REBOOT=ReallySuppress

                      Uninstall command

                      msiexec /x "??SOURCE??" /qn

Then we can add the command for post configuration activities,

                      Like

                      msiexec /I "??SOURCE??" /qn ALLUSERS=1 %Logpath%\aa.log REBOOT=ReallySuppress  PENDINGREBOOTFORCE=1"

                      • 8. Re: Unified Agent Installer Error - psExec ?

What about "post configuration activities" ?  Where/ How it will be executed ?

                        • 9. Re: Unified Agent Installer Error - psExec ?

                          Post Configuration Activities:

After installing the Agent, the Agent's configuration is updated with end-user provided data

Its overwrite the secure, export,UserLocalFile on the Installed target  Machine.

Its all mentioned in the AgenBundle file in the depot,

                          Successfull command executed:

                          Executing command 'msiexec /I "C:\temp\stage\c03f6b6a-2429-4348-ab0e-d4d69eac0542_0\RSCD-WIN32-82.msi" /qn ALLUSERS=1 REBOOT=ReallySuppress /Le C:\temp\stage\c03f6b6a-2429-4348-ab0e-d4d69eac0542_0\error.log' on server target server via  a psexec server.

This is exactly what is happening after the post configuration-

                            Default configuration file is Blank,

Add configuration file in the AgentBundle-

We need to follow the sequence,

After RHA and RHA routing rule creation need to follow this steps.

                                1)Add Installer in a depot.

2)Create the Agent Bundle,in which you have mentioned the configuration after installation.

3)Create the Installer job while selecting the agent bundle from the depot.

                                4)Execute the Agent Installer Job.

                                msiexec /I "??SOURCE??" /qn ALLUSERS=1 %Logpath%\aa.log REBOOT=ReallySuppress  PENDINGREBOOTFORCE=1"

When you open the rscd Installer in depot, this command mentioned over there.

Its doing the Silent installation of RSCD(form source path),Permisssion for ALL USER,Isnatllation log path where you want,if there is any pending reboot request is there then its supress the reboot forcefully and install the Agent

                                software properties panel.bmpfInstallation.

i think all our configurations are correct.

The problem ist in my opinion that we SEVERAL commands in installer "install command" haben:

                                    msiexec /I "??SOURCE??" /qn ALLUSERS=1 REBOOT=ReallySuppress PENDINGREBOOTFORCE=1  && move /Y c:\temp\aaa.txt c:\temp\aaa.txt  && exit /B 0

It seems to be a problem for psexec
