    Online vs. Offline Help documentation

    Cris Coffey

Over the last several years, most software products, including Track-It!, have gone to an online help model where all of the help documentation is hosted on a web site instead of being shipped with the product or printed.

The main benefit to this is that we can continue to update, enhance, translate and correct the online documentation easily and quickly, without worrying about the docs getting outdated like static on disk or printed docs. Over the last few years, on occasion, we have had a customer or two complain about online docs because their environment locks down web access and does not permit them to access our documentation online.

I am interested in hearing more from customers about this and weather or not you like online documentation and why.

Thanks for any feedback you can provide.
