Are you looking for UCS cisco specific solution of generic for any machine which has a SAN disk ??
I am looking from any server with SAN storage. Since it does'nt matter whether its UCS or Blade Matrix System. These systems have the options to configure boot from SAN.
In My System package while using WIM based provisioning we need to understand how would we ensure OS is installed in SAN drive only.
Did you get this resolved? Do you have information that you can share with the communities?
Thanks & Regards,

Here we disabled the Local Disk drive on Server end and ran the BL process which installed the OS in the SAN drives. However we wanted to know if there is any way we can leverage the custom Diskpart method to format and use SAN drive for OS installation.

probably. you need to look into the diskpart options for identifying the SAN disk and formatting it and then feed that into the 'use script for disk partitioning' part of the system package.
If you take a look at the scripts that are copied and run during provisioning you will see that the following script are run to partition the local drives for provisioning.
This is the script that is identifying drive type and also setting the new drive letters and device IDs
This is the scrip tthat is actually partitioning the disk and will use the information that you provide in the system package
