    OEL patch repo config.xml - no connection to Oracle

    Mike Reider

      Hey everyone, we are trying to create a patch repo on an Oracle linux box to do perform patch analysis,

      we configured the oel-config.xml to be like this (with our own proxy IP settings),

      <oel-downloader-config>

      <!-- Please categorize thechannel specified in one of the valid OS, Architecture values.

           Validvalues for OS are OEL3, OEL4 and OEL5

           Validvalues for Architecture are ia64, x86 and x86_64

           Pleaseconsult https://linux.oracle.com or usedownloader command with -listChannel option

           to knowapplicable OS and Architecture for a channel.

              Expect OEL Analysis to fail if OS Arch values are not from the above valid setof values.

              User is responsible for selecting correct combination of OS Arch and channel,downloader will

              not validate it.

      -->

         <config>

                     <!--<proxy-settings>

                                     <port>8080</port>

                                     <host>192.168.90.245</host>

                                     <username>username</username>

                                     <password>MENTTMZPQOOVXNZKKXWTZOZLLMONTTNTKXZLM</password>

                                     <domain-name></domain-name>

                                     <proxy-type>ntlm</proxy-type>

                     </proxy-settings>-->

                     <temporary-location>/tmp</temporary-location>

                     <payload-repository-location>/home/repo</payload-repository-location>

                     <download-request-retries>10</download-request-retries>

                     <download-request-timeout>180000</download-request-timeout>

                     <downloader-parallel-threads>10</downloader-parallel-threads>

         </config>

         <subscription>

                     <os-arch-filter>

                             <os>OEL5</os>

                             <arch>x86</arch>

                             <channel-label>el5_rds_i386_latest</channel-label>

                     </os-arch-filter>

         </subscription>

      running the downloader like this,

      $> sh oel_downloader.sh -configFile oel-config.xml -oelUser myusername -oelPass mypassword

      its coming back with a timeout error, it basically isnt hitting the ORacle site, we know its not the login details since we can connect to the Oracle site via browser, there is a connection. The proxy login and IP are all correct. We also turned off the iptables so its not a firewall issue. Trying to find out why its not connecting. We are getting the following errors
