I am not sure if you can delete a PatchCatalog but try this command:
blcli_execute Group deleteGroupByTypeAndQualifiedName 5022 /WindowsPatchingBL8.1/Bulletins
Let me know what the o/p is.
Well tried man, but it didn’t work for me..
Just replacing 5022 with 5017 will work for it..
Oh yes, I forgot you are using a smart group. SMART_WINDOWS_PATCH_CATALOG_GROUP is 5017 and WINDOWS_CATALOG_GROUP is 5022
yes very true
Glad it worked for you! Mark the actual reply as the correct answer. Its the statement which you have marked as correct.
Ha ha.. sure man
Hi Prabhat & Wali,
If I execute the following blcli command, what is happening in the Background.
blcli_execute Group deleteGroupByTypeAndQualifiedName 5017 /<Win_Patch_Catalog_name>/Bulletins
(When this command is executed, its so fast and all the bulletin smartgroup is vanishing in a moment. but the same when deleting from GUI takes some time.)
Is it deleting the bulletin SG & bulletin id's from our view in GUI or deleting the pointers of those SG & bulletins to the catalog in BL database?
it should be deleting all the dependent objects in that particular group. any delete (from the blcli or gui) is giong to only flag the objects to be deleted, not hard delete from the database, but they will no longer show in the gui.
when cleanupDatabase runs it will hard delete these objects.
