How about the following command in a EO?
cmd /c "echo QUIT | wmic qfe get description,hotfixid,installedby,installedon /format:csv"
I use this in a EO with the CSV grammer…
I think the echo QUIT piped to wmic keeps the command from hanging?

U can directly view this in the standard live browse
Why r u trying a custom command ?
The default hotfix doesnt work for u?
@Dan - Thanks that works
@Rohit - The builtin hotfix view freezes my console.
Any idea how the output from the extended object can be exported for a user?

The console should not freeze when you live browse.
Does your appserver have outbound access to the shavlik.com site? when you live browse the hotfixes object the appserver will try and connect to the shavlik.com site and see if there is new patch metadata to download.
Instead of trying to work around this w/ an EO you should get this built-in functionality to work.
