You may be able to snapshot some of the hardware info objects relevant to what you need to track and generate a report out of that.
Otherwise you could write a nsh wrapper script to run the wmi commands you need.
I am able to write an NSH wrapper for the script but the problem is that BladeLogic cannot "interpret" the WMI output. SMS can do it because it itself is a Microsoft product and has that functionality built-in. I think I am going to need to write an entirely new script; probably forgoing WMI.
I was wondering if anyone else was trying to use BladeLogic to collect licensing information and if so, how. I am still very interested in that but at this point I am thinking that there are other BMC products that may be better suited to collect this type of information, namely Atrium and/or ADDM. I will also investigate them.
However, I still am intererested in what BladeLogic can give me here. In my experience, there is very little it cannot do.
You need the output to come in a format friendly to blade – like csv or name=value.
Created -- well, actually found and modified -- a new VBS script and am creating an Extended Object from it to collect the information I need. Will provide the details when I am done.
Any details to share?
Thanks & Regards,
