I have done this and did not experience this issue. Are you using the GA build? This will happen if the agent is already on 8.2. Check the version file.
Version file looks ok
C:\Program Files\BMC Software\BladeLogic\8.1\RSCD>version.exe
BladeLogic RSCD Agent 220.127.116.11 (Release) [Jan 12 2012 18:40:22]
Copyright (C) 1996-2012 BladeLogic Inc.
but in ADD/Remove programs still showing old version. Windows for you!!
Strange. if the version files shows the version, it means the agent has been upgraded. Run an agentinfo to verify.
The agentinfo is ok to. Another quick question, i have upgraded to 8.2 do i have to re-run the inventory and complaince jobs?
I am not sure about inventory. But I believe you will have to re run the discovery and compliance job. Was the Db upgrade successful?
Everything looks to have been upgraded successfully, i can see all the Inventory templates and Compliance templates in Bladelogic. Wasn't sure whether any of the templates had been updated or changed in the new BL.
There are new inventory templates that ship w/ bdssa 8.2. if you have upgraded bsa to 8.2, you must upgrade bdssa also and use the new templates.
Is the box pending a reboot ? what is the file version of the rscdsvc.exe ?
I have upgraded BDSSA to 8.2 where are the inventory templates?
In the reports/contents/Inventory-Templates.zip. copy that to the appserver, extract it and run the installer, then go update your snapshot jobs.

did you get creds w/ blcred for the 'test' profile ?
you logged into the appserer, then ran like 'nsh <install script' from a shell on the appserver? and not via nsh from another system?
