      Hi,

I have reset the root password of solaris servers through BLPackage, But some of servers showing the below error.

      DAAL performAction returned ERROR=100

Can any one please suggest me how we can resolve it?

Is DAAL performAction returned ERROR=100 the only error trace? There should be some more to it. Can you paste the entire trace?

I think the problem is with ProcessExecutor::checkStatus final output <Permission denied >You may want to attach the bldeploy job log for this job.

the "Plug-in error code: 100" is a generic error message and just indicates there was an error in talking with the plugin!

What version of blade is this, and what version is the agent?

                      1. Make sure the role which is runnng  the job is mapped to root/admin account which has got permisisons to change root password. Check mappings/ACLS on agent for this, correct ACL
                      2. Make sure the appserver and agent version are same or compatible
                      3. If 1 and 2 is not the problem, for one particular server which is having this problem, try to re-distribute the config object for Unix User. And run the job agian, it can solve the problem

there should be a bldeploy log in the Transactions directory on the target, can you attach that ?

The bldeploy log for this particular job should be in the Transactions directory on the target server.

Looks like the process is crashing, never a good thing.

The first thing to try to would be to de-register and re-register the unix user custom object (right-click server / administration tasks), restart the agent and run another Update server properties job against it to refresh the versions. Then try again.

If that does not help, in addition to the bldeploy and bltargetjobmanager logs, I would truss the main rscd process of the target while reproducing the issue, then submit all that info to support.

Use the following command to truss the main rscd process:

truss -leafd -rall -wall -o <output_file> -p <pid of the main rscd process>

What is the main rscd process?

When the rscd agent runs on a UNIX machine, one can see 3 processes:

                              1. the watcher process, child of init (1), often renamed "rscw" (but not necessarily).
                              2. the logger process, the first child of the watcher process.
                              3. the main rscd process, in charge of listening to new connections, the second child of the watcher process.

The main rscd process is also the only child of the watcher process that can have children (1 child per new connection).

                              For ex:

                              # ps -ef | grep rsc | grep -v grep

                              root      2510     1  0 Feb18 ?        00:00:00 bin/rscw

                              root      2525  2510  0 Feb18 ?        00:00:00 bin/rscd

                              root      2526  2510  0 Feb18 ?        00:00:00 bin/rscd   <---- main rscd process

                              root      3751  2526  2 16:45 ?        00:00:00 bin/rscd

                              • 2510, child of init(1) is the watcher
                              • 2525, 1st child of the watcher (2510) is the logger
                              • 2526, 2nd child of the watcher (2510) is themain rscd process we are interested in.

In this particular case, it has 1 child, 3751.
