The approver can access the change request through Approval Central.
The change request can be approved/rejected by approver from Approval Central.
you have an alternate option from Approval Central to approve CR.
Hi Govind,Access to the Add/Approve/Reject buttons is a shortcut on the Approvers tab on the Change Request form.
To have access to these buttons, the approver would need to have either:
1. Infrastructure Change Master application permission
2. Infrastructure Change Manager/Approver functional role for the support group that is assigned to the ticket.
If an approver is not part of one of these, then they need to approve the signature line from the Approval Central form.
1. Approve/Reject buttons not being enabled upon selecting a signature when the logged in user is the approver, should be considered as defect. I am not sure in what versions this was fixed, but I am sure these issues will be found fixed in coming releases with many enhancements.
2. Another alternate to using approval central is to, double click the signature line which will open the 3-way join form. On the form, the Approval status field can be set to approved and saved to approve the signature.
so basically if the approver is the master or if he had any functional roles to the ticket assigned group then he can access Approve/Reject button or else even if he is the Approver but the ticket is not assigned to any of his Support Group then he gotta go to Approval Central.....
going forward may be Approval Central would be the single point of entry to approve any request.
Saroj, I t looks like the double-click option is only available if you are the Change Master as well.
Thanks to all,
This issue got resolved by approving thru approval central. If this is a defect, we hope a permanent fix from BMC team.
