    Extended object script returning incorrect character

    Joe Piotrowski

      I have a customer who has created an Extended Object and script to get Registry Key values. Everything works perfectly for all keys except one. If you look at the attached screenshot, you can see that the "\b" in the string is getting converted to a different character value.

      Here is the code he is using. Can you tell me where he needs to modify his script to prevent this from happening?

      nexec $TARGET cmd /c net start | grep -i -e 'OracleService' | sort | uniq  | while read LINE1; do

      echo $LINE1 | while read LINE; do

          service=`echo $LINE`

          oracle_sid=`echo $LINE | awk -F"OracleService" '{print $2}'`

          oracle_home=`nexec $TARGET cmd /c "reg query HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\OracleServiceINST1 /v ImagePath"`

          oracle_name=`nexec $TARGET cmd /c "reg query HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\OracleServiceINST1 /v DisplayName"`

          echo $oracle_sid $oracle_home $oracle_name
