I have seen yast2, xterm etc. been forwarded via an nsh session using nexec commands.
What version of rscd & nsh are you using?
nexec does this out of the box by resetting the DISPLAY variable and tunneling the requests back to the server initiating the call. Are you having trouble with this?
We use RSCD and NSH version 18.104.22.1681.
We want to run the xterm or other X11 applications using nexec with a restriction, is to forward the X11 trafic on the rscd port (port 4750) not on the X11 default port (port 6000). Is-it possible to do this tunnelling ?
Yes, then it should be possible to do so using nexec.
Like pseagers asked, are you facing any problems with this?
I don't know how to specify to the xterm command to use rscd port 4750 ?
Ah, ok, you don't explicitly have to specify the port number to xterm.
rscd (i.e. the agent) is already running on that port.
From the machine where you want to use the UI, you'll use nsh and then connect to your target by doing something like "cd //hostname"
Next, you can use a command like:
"nexec -i -e xterm" to launch xterm.
Xterm will then be exported to you via. the rscd process.
Thanks you very much for this response. That's ok for us.
