BMC BladeLogic requires a Linux-based DHCP server to be running version 3.0p2 of the Internet Software Consortium (ISC) DHCP. The ISC provides a freely redistributable version of DHCP. Earlier versions of ISC DHCP are not compatible with BMC BladeLogic’s provisioning system.
Please see the “Configuring a DHCP Server on Linux” in the BL Installation guide.
“yum install dhcp” should do it. you do not need the 3.0p2 version specifically – any higher version will work fine. the dhcp package included in the redhat distro is the ISC dhcp.
Does anyone happen to have a compiled version for RH 5.5?
Compiling the source form ISC fails, the server is not connected to internet (so no yum) and the Linux distro I have doesn’t include any dhcp server
You don’t need the source – it’s part of the rh distro. Pull it from the OS install ISO.
