AIX patch analysis - STDERR: Found a fileset that is not committed

przemyslaw.mantaj@wolainfo.com.pl

Hi all,

I have configured AIX patch analysis. I start patching job and all the time I get this error:

Error          2011-09-29 17:27:20          STDERR: Found a fileset that is not committed: bos.alt_disk_install.boot_images, State: A......  Analysis option is set to exit if any fileset found in applied state. Exiting...

I know that I can set analysis option on "Continue analysis even if applied fileset found" and it stage will be pass. I hope. Now, I have chosen option: "Stop analysis if any applied fileset found". Could you tell me what these option means? What "fileset" exactly means?

User guide says (analysis options):

Stop Analysis if any applied fileset found

Use this option to stop analysis on any target server that has filesets in the applied state (installed but not committed).

Is that mean that some filesets are on target server? What is filesets? I do not quite understand it.

Use Patch global configuration settings

The Patching Job uses the settings in the Global configuration parameters.

Continue Analysis if any applied fileset found

Use this option to continue analysis on any target server that has filesets in the applied state (installed but not committed).

My environment:

appserver, console, nsh, rscd are 8.1.02.233 version.

Best reagards,
