You need the VC agent that is installed on the VMware Control server (windows box). it’s on the EPD. it may be called “Virtualization Manager”
I got BBSA 8.1.0 SP2 agent for ESX[x86]..
is that correct one?
I downloaded BBSA8.1 RSCD agent for Vmware ESX server[x86] is that the correct one?
You want the one called:
Virtualization Manager RSCD Agent for VMWare Virtual Center
For the arch of your VCC server.
can u help me to get that?
I dont have credentials for EPD so send me the link of location to that file.
I'm using BMC Bladelogic Server Automation (BBSA) 8.1
It’s on the EPD. how are you getting software if you don’t have EPD credentials?
Sorry, its with one of my group mate. I searched in EPD for RSCD, but didn't get the correct one.
Do you want to provision VM's using Bladelogic or you just want to manage ESX, if it is latter why do you want to manage ESX as you cant do much.
If you are planning to provision VM's then you need to install a RSCD agent on the vcenter server (Not the ESX hosts) and add that as a target to Bladelogic. The RSCD for vCenter is not your normal RSCD but a different one i.e. ex if your environment is Bladelogic 8.1 SP2 then the VC rscd agent will be RSCD_VC81-SP2-WINxx.exe and you will find this on EPD.
Ya I have downloaded the following
BBSA 8.1.00 SP2 Virtualization Manager RSCD Agent for VMWare Virtual Center(x64)[RSCD_VC81-SP2-WIN64.exe]
BBSA 8.1.00 SP2 Virtualization Manager RSCD Agent for VMWare Virtual Center(x86)[RSCD_VC81-SP2-WIN32.exe]
Then i have installed [RSCD_VC81-SP2-WIN64.exe] on my Viertual Center machine
I Added that machin to my Server group
and checked agentinfo vCenterServerHostName in NSH prompt
it needs to show the OS property as :Windows NT(x64)VC
but i'm getting only the Windows NT(x64)
No VC is coming along with my OS
Here is the series of steps from Installation guide:
To install the vCenter server agent
1 Install the WindowsAgent VC on the vCenter server, as described in “Installing
RSCD agents” on page 113. Be sure to install the WindowsAgent VC that is
specifically designated for use with a vCenter server.
2 Open the c:\windows\rsc\exports file and edit the last line so it reads:
3 Open a command window and run the following command from the system on
which NSH is installed:
The agentinfo command displays various types of information, including an entry
for the operating system. The operating system should be a Microsoft Windows
operating system and the letters "VC" should be appended on the same line, which
signifies that it is a Windows computer with vCenter running on it.
4 License the agent as described in “Licensing agents”
did you set the properties and property instances yet?
No there is some licence issue..
That agent is not licenced
Please help me in Licencing Agents.
Do you have a licensing account on the bladelogic site?
Is the licensing portal configured in the blasadmin settings?
What specifically can you not do related to licensing?
