CustomerA and B will only see servers they have RBAC permissions to see. This has nothing to do w/ smart groups.
OK I got it. Thank you very much.
RBAC has been assigned, Customer A Admin is bale to only his machines.
Second question was:
Can we see smart groups in BBDSSA? Because Customer want see the Smart Group in BBDSSA and fetch report for list servers which are belong to that smart group?
There is a separate ETL you can run for the smartgroups. When you run the etl, in the –f option specify ‘smartgroups.properties’ instead of RunETL.properties.
You need to run both the full ETL and the ETL w/ the smart groups.
Yes I have ETL Job with -f option as below.
Where we can see these smart groups in BBDSSA?
PRDBBDSSA01# run_etl.nsh -s 1 -v 81 -d 3 -f smartgroup.properties
Site Id: 1
OM Version: 81
Log Level: 3
Level of Parallelism: 20
Override Flag for Cognos Update: 0
Properties Filename: smartgroup.properties
Navigating to ETL path...
Proceeding with ETL ...
ETL has completed succesfully.
Look in the ‘Server | Server Group’ folder in Query Studio
I am not able locate Query Studio on BBDS after login with GLobalRportAdmin role.
Do we need to enable it?
Query Studio is enabled out of the box. Per the BDSSA Report Authoring Guide:
Accessing authoring tools
Access to the report authoring tools requires appropriate authorizations.
Users who are assigned to a role with Reports.QueryStudio authorization have access
to Query Studio.
Have you reviewed this document?
I am logging to BBDS SA with GlobalReportAdmin role who has authorization to Reports.QueryStudio.
Is there any other place i need to check?
You don’t see a link in the upper right hand corner that says “Query Studio”?
No I am not able to find.
What do you see under the ‘launch’ in the upper right of the bdssa page?
What version are you using?
