When deploying patches to a SUSE environment I noticed that there is not areboot flag for any of the SUSE patches and no reboot takes place unless you specifyit in the patch deploy job. I noticed this when applying a kernel patch which requiresa reboot to take effect and no reboot took place after the job finished.
Is this normal behavior that none of the SUSE patches are being pulled with rebootflag information?
If so does anyone know when this will be changed?
Is there anything in the rpm metadata for the kernel rpms that indicates a reboot is required? if there is not, then we don’t know that a reboot is required. the vendor would need to note in the rpm metadata that a reboot is required.
