In 8.1 there are lots of BLCLI namespaces to do with Virtualization, but a quick trawl through the available commands did not seem to show anything which obviously does what you're trying to do, but I can't test this as I don't have a VC or ESX server setup in my lab.
I have however seen something similar done in the past without the use of BLCLI but instead using the vSphere PowerCLI and an then using BladeLogic to deploy a package to the server which runs the PowerCLI which performs the datastore query and writes the results to a file which can then be read back by a subsequent job like an NSH script. I probably haven't explained that very well, and it's not a particularly elegant solution but it did the job well.
