ok we are moving forward.
We restarted the appserver and it is working.
BUT we have the feeling that the platform does not kill the console session properly.
lsof -i : 9840
kill -9 "process id listening on the port above"
We are running 8.0 SP2. So we will monitoring this, if it is happened again.
On linux you can run ‘netstat –anp | grep 9840’ – I think that runs a little faster than the lsof.
I would review the appserver log to determine what happened to the appserver. I’d also upgrade from SP2 when you get a chance…
