Is the agent at the same version+patch level as the app server?
Yes, the agent is 817.
Does the app server have internet connection?
Yes it does via a proxy, there is no problems pulling down patch catalogs etc....
Does the proxy handle https and http? I think that this is an https connection. That said, this would normally mean that patch catalog updates fail too ...
I found the solution please see below:
no conection between appserver and the internet
Check network connection, firewall, proxy settings. If httpproxy is used and user/password are blank, then explicitly set them in blasadmin to blank or temp values. If the Customer has multiple instances, then make sure that blasadmin is executed for all instances with below temp values or valid Customer credentials:
bladmin> set appserver HTTPProxyuser ""
bladmin> set appserver HTTPProxyPassword ""
bladmin> set appserver HTTPProxyuser temp
bladmin> set appserver HTTPProxyPassword temp
If no connection to internet then use WIndowsOfflineDownloader to obtain patches, and uncheck "check for updates" for cab files.
In BladeLogic 80:
Setting blasadmin entries will work for Live Browse and SnapShot Hotfixes.
To fix the proxy issue running Windows Patch Catalog Job, you need to provide proxy information in Configuration / Global Patch Configuration
