You may be able to do this w/ the blcli.
Why do you need to do this?
A couple of reasons. One, I may want to send a list of servers within a particular business unit to my customers. Two, I may wish to export a list of servers so I can add them to a Remedy Change Request for related assets to be changed. Sometimes our management team would like a list of servers broken down by environment, or other reasons.
A colleague of mine spent a long time investigating if this was possible using blcli, and I believe concluded that if it is possible, it certainly isn't practicle - difficult to say the least!
Hmmmm... I would think this would be a simple action within BladeLogic. Click once on a smart group, click export, and have an option to choose all or just what's on a page.
Thanks - I search for some blcli scripts to see if I can do this.
Maybe I'll ask for a feature request.
You'd think so wouldn't you!!
You should, I know we have raised a case about it.

You can modify the number of items displayed per page by selecting Window > Preferences > BMC >Paging Options. I believe the default is set to display 50 objects. You can change it as per your requirements.
After you change the setting, you have to select File > Refresh for the change to take effect.
This way, you will be able to see all children in one page.
Awesome!!! That's a good thing to know and is how I was able to pull a list of servers!!!
blcli Server listServersInGroup "/Path/Smartgroupname"
There’s a blcli command:
That should do this
I'm sure that's new functionality?! Or is it not supported....?
I found it in my BLCLI Help Document (7.6) so I assume its a supported command.
It’s been there since 7.6 atleast
in 7.x there was more pratical option: just select them from then GUI then right-click "copy to clipboard" and then you could paste them anywhere you liked
that simple command was removed from version 8
i'm still wondering why
1) Right click on the server group in question.
2) Select “Table View.” It will open up in the bottom right.
3) Use Shift to multi-select.
4) Right click on your selection and then click on “Copy to Clipboard.”
Though, I’ve found that the UI limits the view upto 50 items per page. So you’ll have to page down and copy the next 50 items and so on.
