I'm curious to find the outcome of this as we are experiencing something very similar. Except in our case the patches are failing to install because of dependiencies. Only thing is the patches it is applying should be the dependencies. We too are going from SP2 to SP3 when this is occuring.
In other words. The bladelogic application is doing a rpm -Uiv patchname.rpm for each patch it has found (in no particular order it seems). However, if we run it the patches manually like this: rpm -Uvh *.rpm the patching works itself out as it has the entire list of patches rather than doing them one at a time.
can you grep for "setPreAndPostCmdScriptDir" in /usr/nsh/br/xml/cli/*.xml ?
if it's not there you may be missing a hotfix, if it is there, check to make sure the unix bladmin user can read the xml file.
You were correct. We had upgraded to VPC 7.6 HF 4016 which called
"setPreAndPostCmdScriptDir". There is currently no application server HF so we had to downgrade to VPC HF 4014. Thank you!
