This works fine for compliance jobs, it is just Audit jobs. I can not add a component group as the target for any audit job I try and create.
Wow, if I add 2 smart component groups, I get this error, if i add in 1 (ONE) component (from one of the groups added) AND the two smart component groups I can save it. Run the job and hey presto, it executes against all servers in the smart component groups as well.
Is this a bug in the GUI ?
what version of the gui?
this does not sound like expected behaviour.
18.104.22.168 - easily repeatable.
Any progress ? It also now seems, even with compliance jobs, I can add smart component groups as targets but not a parent folder, under which a number of smart component groups exist. I can save the target ok, but the job fails as it can not find any components (ie the job does not look down the smart component groups to see if they have any components). This may be by design (in which case why allow adding a component group folder) but would suggest a bug with the actual mechanism that searches for components against which a job runs. i have gone back to adding smart component groups directly as targets for compliance, but the GUI still does not permit these as targets in for audit jobs.

I haven't seen this behavior in 8.x GUI. If it's reproducible in 7.6.0.x, submit a ticket and include the steps to reproduce. It will be filed as a defect (or related to an existing defect).
