Windows provisioning and customized WinPE image

I'm discussing with a customer how to provisioning Windows systems.

They already have a process for that, and they have a quite complex WinPE image that also runs some pre-provisioning checks before it actually kicks off the provisioning job and it's able to interrupt the process if some hardware pre-requisites are not met (e.g. NICs or disks missing)

They would like to reuse this WinPE image in our environment.

I told them I believe they'll have to recreate the WinPE image according to our documentation but they can include part of their existing code in that.

      Does that make sense?

They also asked if in our Windows provisioning process the use of PXE is mandatory. I told them it is.

      Can you confirm?
