You could try looking at the blcli command "ComponentException : createComponentExceptionWithOneRule" in the BLCLI help to automatically create an exception rule. Perhaps you could run this in a batch with your discovery job (against the smart group)?
Thank you Joshua...let me try this.
I believe you have to run the compliance job against the component first before you can set exceptions. see how the blcli goes though.
How are you doing this?
- I have a compliance rule
- I run the discovery job first and all components will come to the component smart group
- Then I run the compliace job against this smart group
- I set excpetions by right clicking on a component and clicking set exceptions.
I can run a discovery job using Linux Template and get a smart group in Components named:
TEMPLATE.NAME equals SLES_9_Compliance
Then I create a Compliance Job (with NO exceptions) and get a smart group named: SLES_9_Compliance_Job
Then I'm lost. It seems to add exceptions I can only do it on each server component.
