    Error Installing BDSSA 2.0 - Database Link Connection Test Error - invalid OM database

    Steven Scarborough

      I am installing BDSSA 2.0 (BDSSA2000-404-RHAS4SUSE10X86_64.SH). When attempting to connect to the core BL Database I get the following error indicating that the core OM database is invalid. I have logged a ticket with BMC, but has anyone seen this before?
      Do you want to use a TNS Entry to connect to the database (y/n)? y
      Enter the database's TNS Entry []: BLADE_PROD.UMB.COM

      BMC Bladelogic Core Database User ID [blogic]:

      BMC Bladelogic Core Database Password []:

      You have chosen the following BMC Bladelogic Core Database connection parameters:

          Type           = oracle
          TNS Entry Name = BLADE_PROD.UMB.COM
          User           = blogic
          Password       = ********

      Is this correct (y/n) ? y
      Database Link Connection Test Error - invalid OM database

      The core BL database is as follows:

      Database Configuration Report

      Database Vendor = Oracle
      Database Release = Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release - 64bit Production
      With the Partitioning, Data Mining and Real Application Testing options
      Database user = BLOGIC
      Connection URL = jdbc:oracle:thin:@orapblade:9000:blade
      JDBC version = 10.2

      Database Driver Name = Oracle JDBC driver
      Driver class = oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver
      Database Driver Version =

      The BDSSA database version is identical. The tnsnames.ora file includes the following entry for the core BL database

        (DESCRIPTION =
          (ADDRESS_LIST =
            (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = orapblade.umb.com)(PORT = 9000))
          (CONNECT_DATA =
            (SID = blade)
            (GLOBAL_NAME = blade_prod.umb.com)
