Windows 2000 patching is not supported in 8.0
W2K is still supported by Microsoft why BL doesn't it ?
Do you know any possible workaround to perform Patch analysis on w2k ?

Possibly because they are into the 'extended support', thought that is only a guess. I would talk to your local BMC account rep about this issue.
I looked into this and I believe that MS are stopping support in July this year.
But on bulletin of june there are at least 4 fix to be applied to w2k
I'm trying an escalation of the problem on BMC
Thanks for your interest.
Recently there has been a lot of concerns over the plan to drop Windows 2000 Patching in 8.0, This decision was driven by Microsoft’s plan to EOL Windows 2000 next month, and their claims that they will not be releasing any patches for Windows 2000 after that point. After significant discussions with customers and our partners we don’t think that customers will be migrating away from Windows 2000 as fast as Microsoft expected, and due to that we have made some changes to the BBSA support plan.
For the BBSA 8.0 Release… We will enable the creation of Windows 2000 Patch Catalogs via Service Pack 5. There is no ETA on SP5 as of today. Analysis will only be allowed if the target is running an 8.0 Agent.
For the 8.1 Release… Windows 2000 will remain a deprecated platform for new features. However, we will enable Windows 2000 Patch Catalog Creation, but analysis will only be allowed via an 8.0 Agent.
We will not support patching an Windows 2000 end point from any 8.x app server when the end point is running a 7.x agent!
BBSA 8.1 will be the absolute FINAL release we will have any support for Windows 2000.
I installed BL 8.0 SP5. I don't see Windows 2000 as an option in the Catalog. Where are we with adding this
back to BL?
