    ESX Management Error

    Steven Alexson

      Current Environment

      BladeLogic OM

BladeLogic RSCD Agent for ESX 3.5 (Installer: RSCD750-264-RH7.SH)

      Oracle 10g Database

I have installed the ESX agent on one of our ESX hosts. I added the server to the BLOM console. I have licensed the server and pushed ACLS. The server icon reflects that the server is an ESX server, and the "ESX Host" object shows in the Live server view. The OS_VERSION property reports VMware ESX 3. I have defined the the VM_WS_PWD, VM_WS_URL, and VM_WS_USERNAME properties. the VM_WS_URL is set to https://localhost/ui. I have verified that I can log into that URL with the provided username/password manually.

When I expand the "ESX Host" server object, I see three items: Configuration, Resource Allocation, Virtual Machines. If I click on any of those 3 items, I see an error in the appserver log: [Fatal Error] :-1:-1: Premature end of file.

Here is the agentinfo output of the server:

      Agent Release   :
      Hostname        : esx_hostname
      Operating System: Linux 2.4.21-58.ELvmnix
      User Permissions: 0/0 (root/root)
      Security        : Protocol=5, Encryption=TLS1
      Host ID         : 860AED11
      # of Processors : 8
License Status  : Licensed for NSH/CM

This is the entry that is added to the agent log when I click on one of the three items above:

      04/06/10 08:01:40.468 INFO1    rscd -  xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx 8453 0/0 (BLAdmins:xxxxxx@xxxxxx): CM: > [Client] executing vmware-cmd

Any ideas why I am getting a fatal error?
