The hostname of the agentinfo output seems a bit odd. It would be worth setting the app server and the agent to debug mode and go through the process once again to generate the debug logs. Also, I would open up a ticket with support regarding this issue and send them the above logs.
So, when go to https://esx-hostname, I get the VMWare ESX Server welcome screen. On that screen, there is a link to "Log in to Web Access":
When I click on that link, I am redirected to http://esx-hostname/ui, which presents me a login screen:
This is the screen I have been logging into manually.
I did change the URL, as you suggest, to https://localhost/sdk. From my browser, that generates a completely blank page. However, from within the BladeLogic console, I see the same fatal error message in the appserver log when I try to access items within the "ESX Host" object of the live server view.
I do know that on our VCCs, the URL is, in fact, https://localhost/sdk. That works fine for the VCC, and I can see all virtual machines, clusters, etc... I just can't seem to get the ESX agent to work.
Which agent / appserver version is this?
I downloaded "BMC BladeLogic RSCD Agent 7.5.00 for VMWare ESX 2.5/3.0/3.5 [x86]". The resulting installer file was "RSCD750-264-RH7.SH"

I believe you need a different agent, the file name should have ESX in the name, and might be under the 'virtualization manager' download. Otherwise you can get an agent on the VC server and access the esx related configurations for the esx server via the VC.
