When creating a Gentoo Linux image file part of the BMC instructions is to drop the gentooMinimalIsofile on a Linux server where TFTP server is installed. Is that neccessary. I'm running a Windows 2003 server with DHCP,PXE and TFTP running. Do I need to have TFTP running on the Linux server where I'll be creating the image?
You don't need to store it on a linux tftp server, but there is a script to run against the gentoo iso that will create the image you need. that script must run on a linux server. you can copy the resulting files back to your tftp server.
