Problems with VPC and Red Hat Network?

    Vinnie Lima

Anyone having issues getting VPC working against Red Hat Network lately?

      # ./RedHatRepositoryManager.sh -command createUpdateRepo -channel rhel-x86_64-server-5 -repoLocation /opt/bmc/bcas/patch/rhel-repo/rhel-x86_64-server-5-test

and so on forever with the errors above.

I checked that the credentials I am using works on rhn.redhat.com and I have entitlements to download software from the software channel identified above.

Anyone having issues? Wonder if Red Hat changed their automated download method.....

      Thanks,

      Vinnie

there's a 4006 hotfix, you may want to try that one (get from support)... not sure if it will address this specific issue.

I ran the catalog before without issues.  What causes this ?

              • 4. Re: Problems with VPC and Red Hat Network?

Are you on 8.0 SP1 or above?

I'm seeing the same problem on BL 8.0 SP3.Did you find a solution for this?

                    • 7. Re: Problems with VPC and Red Hat Network?

even though you get those messages

                      Cookie rejected:

the catalog should still update with success. I believe this issue is related at the RHN network.  Are you not able to anaylze even with these messages?

                      • 8. Re: Problems with VPC and Red Hat Network?

No, it says no successful catalog update when I try to analyze even though I see some data in the catalog. Those warnings are flooding the log so hard to see anything else. I'll have a closer look and see what I can find. But yours is working despite the warnings?

                        • 9. Re: Problems with VPC and Red Hat Network?

You were right, the cookie warnings did not cause this problem. Instead I found the error message when creating the repository. We will update our reposity Linux server (which is quite out-dated) and see if that solves the problem. If anyone have seen this before and knows exactly how to solve it, feel free to contribute.

analysis will not work unless you have a successful catalog update run (green check).  i was having problems getting to redhat's site yesterday (via a browser) - don't know if that's related.

                            • 11. Re: Problems with VPC and Red Hat Network?

The patch catalog update job failed to install creatrepo package because of out-dated linux OS. We installed creatrepo manually and that solved the problem. Problem solved and customer is delighted

                              Thanks for your help!
