Creating package - Synch all targets with master

Having some difficulties with using audit results to create packages. Whenever I right click and do synch all targets with master, the package is created however when I i look at the creation log it states that it is "unable to package file contents for file xx". I have tried single files\collection of single files and complete directores which have changed, however all have the same effect. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Look in the agent log on the master server to see if there are errors gathering the file

            Hi Bill,

Where are the agent logs stored on the master server ?

            If you are refering to C:\program files\BMC Bladelogic\RSC\rscd.log -

there are no entries in there.

The only entries are in the depot when u are open up the properties, under

            creation log, get the following:

Warning Feb 27, 2010 4:29:42 PM Unable to package file contents for

            '/D/Program Files/Pershing Ltd/Ebrokernet Remoting/SMDiagnostics.dll'

This will be for every file it try's to package.

            No entries in Appsserverlog

            regards.

I would expect to see the appserver trying to request that file from the target system, so you should see something in the rscd.log on the 'master' system.

can you add that file to a blpackage manually?  otherwise, i'd open a support ticket on this.

              • 4. Re: Creating package - Synch all targets with master

I have the same issue when I go into depot and create a new BL package

                from Snapshots.

However it would take too long for this to go through Selecting server

objects as there are over 250 files that would need to be selected. When

selecting single files through this method the package can be created

                successfully.

These are the logs from the 'master' system

In the audit job, is the master a snapshot or a live server?

In the audit job, I have set it up for server objects (files\directories)

on a master server and run against a specified target server.

I have also tried doing it from the results of an audit job where I have

                    set the

                    -component template

                    -Master

                    -Target

                    regards.

On the file 'part' in your template or in the snapshot job directly, do you have the 'file contents' checked?

Where would I find this setting ?

I've taken a look at the template, also the snapshot job. The job type I

                        have selected is "snapshot components"

if you are using a component template, then in the template:
