An appserver cannot have its secure file configured to point to an NSH Proxy. Is this your attempted setup?
I've got a BL App Server (default deployment) + a nsh proxy ( called sso ) on the same physical machine.
That is fine. But the problem arises when you try to set your appserver's secure file to point to the NSH proxy. This doesn;t work because the app server need to verify the file server is running during startup. The NSH proxy cannot proxy until the appserver is up. So you have a lose-lose scenario. Is that what you are trying to do? This is supposed to change with 8.x/
so what should my config be looking like then? a little lost now.. would rather win/win instead
1 - Can you login successfully w/ the bladelogic gui? using which profile that you posed (claudio or defaultProfile)?
2 - Can you run nsh from the 'nsh here' custom command after you login to the gui using the original secure file?
Can you post a screenshot of the error ?
1) I can login successfully with the gui when using the default secure file with both profiles
2) nsh here also no pb.
When I have the secure file with the contents:
I can't connect with either profile
Right, because you cannot configure the bladelogic client running on an appserver to use an nsh proxy.
if you want to test the nsh proxy function and the secure file that references it you need to run the client from a system other than the appserver.
ok..thanks for that.. it was mentioned that it could have been done, so was in the process of testing. will follow up tomorrow.
thanks for all responses
As Adam noted, this may be possible in 8.0, however I have not had a chance to test it. I would look in the Administration pdf...
I am hitting a similar problem (also just posted in another thread).
In my case, I have configured the NSH Proxy on a Win2k8 App Server (BL 8 SP7).
Also, I have two GUIs, one installed on the App Server and another GUI on my laptop.
When I run Custom Command (like "nsh here" or "Agent Information") from the GUI on the App Server the result comes up but if I do the same with the GUI from my laptop the "Nsh Here" window disappear and the "Agent Information" returns an empty output.
