For some reason I believe that Damon implemented Single User Mode scripts at a client. Ping him..

I just remembered I've got this exported blpackage.
This was orginally developed by Mike Beckett for the Capgemini benchmark.
I think some work may have been done on it by Paul Williamson at Capgemini.
I'm told that it works, but I haven't used it myself.
I've attached bldeploy.xml for the commands, 33e90629, which is referred to as kernel_patch.sh in bldeploy.xml and params.txt, but the actual patch, 1100.1 (117171-13.zip), is 15m, so I left it out.
Let me know how it is and maybe I'll post it to the KB.
Excellent, what version is the BL export?
There is a single user mode capability coming in Maserati (late July), but in effect you can get it by entering the following commands:
init S && until ps -ef | grep 'sulogi[n]' >/dev/null do
case `uname -r` in
5.[6-9]) init_3_cmd="init 3" ;;
5.10) init_3_cmd="pkill sulogin" ;;
5.11) init_3_cmd="pkill sulogin" ;;
