Sabastien, we're currently using SOCKS but we're still on 7.4.5 with some open issues about it
if your questions are not 75 specific, just tell me
anyway I'm putting a watch on this thread because we will upgrade soon and I'd like to know if that will solve our quirks
7.5 is the version I am looking at using, but any feedback at all would be great, even previous releases.
as of our current release:
i've found no free socks servers for windows, so we resorted using "dante" socks on a redhat linux
we've user the standard configuration aside from setting the timeout value for session to 0 (unlimited)
as for the open issue i've mentioned, it seems that sometimes connections from the socks to the remote agent doesn't get closed and the remote agent just freeze
this seems to affect only windows servers
unixes just forks another rscd that keeps running
has anyone tried squid?
last time i saw squid it only did http/ftp proxy
does it perform socks also now?
