Is this a fresh install?
Yes a fresh install.
Thanks Anna. I know this is going to sound crazy, but try this for me. Set the network interfaces on your MSSQL server and the SLES server to 100MB Full duplex (don't forget to bounce the interface on the SLES server) and then try again and tell me if the problem persists. It has been my experience that this error is due to dropped packets and this can cause it. Another cause can be faulty NICs, Cables, and Switch ports.
Tried that to no avail.
However, this is a virtualised environment using vmware.
This is the message we are seeing when trying to start blappserv or run the blappconf -install for SQL connections.
Caused by: com.bladelogic.app.db.DBException: Message : A DBComms.error occurred while reading input. Context:Read packet header, Unexpected end of stream, readBytes:-1. Negative read result PktNumber:0. ReadThisPacket:0. PktDataSize:4,096. SQLState: 08S01 ErrorCode: 0
Have you opened a ticket w/ our support group? that might be the best way to proceed w/ resolving this.
Hmmm. Ok. If this is a virtualized environment, you may want to try changing your MTU settings on the App server. Try adjusting the MTU to 1300 and restart networking and try again.
The error is because of an interrupted stream, as if a cable were unplugged, so-to-speak.
