If you set it up with multiple hostnames, yes :)
i.e. in your hosts file:
192.168.0.1 WTFSTSTAPPS3 # normal lan
10.12.50.1 WTFSTSTAPPS3-M # management lan
hosts file on the appserver that is
as long the hostnames are resolvable on the appserver
Just be wary when licensing something like this. If you run autolic against multiple names for what is essentially the same rscd agent on a single physical machine it chews a license for each one. Our team has to occassionally go in and delete duplicate licenses for machines that got licensed twice based on the real hostname and an alias.
This may potentially sort out our problem with HA CMP clusters - by having 1 IP address (and hostname) for when running, and another IP and hostname for when it is not.
Regarding the licensing - Do you chaps at Bladelogic agree that this approach should only incur the cost of 1 license - since it is 1 server and 1 RSCD agent...And given that this is just a workaround to resolve the cluster issues?
Ooh... licensing issue!
I think I know the answer to that question, but it's dangerous ground...
Better speak to your TAM on issues like these...
That kind of question scares us little techies.
No worries Robin. I have logged a call with support for more information on the licensing side.
I will try to remember to update this thread after I have a resolution.
